Our Journey
Semi-Arid Resilience Network (SARN) began as a Community-Based Organization in 2017 under the name Semi-Arid Health Initiative. Over the years, it evolved into a fully-fledged NGO in 2019, and in 2024, following consultations with community members, partners, and development actors, it rebranded to its current name, Semi-Arid Resilience Network. SARN operates with well-established structures that guide decision-making and foster partnerships for implementing community-based programs. These programs align with County Integrated Development Plans (CIDPs) and County Engagement Forums. As a member of the Civil Society Organization (CSO) network and a pillar head for peace and social action in Garissa’s County Engagement Forum, SARN is committed to driving impactful change. We work across Garissa, Wajir, Mandera, Isiolo, and Tana River counties.
